Photo of the day

These pics were takin from my house in the Poconos since the ice went out three weeks ago. This mature loon is just passing through and won't be around long. We've had immature non breeding loons stick around for the season in the past. The deer swam about 3/4 of a mile for apparently no reason. Strange thing is I had seen a deer swim the same exact route a year or two ago. The otters have been around for a while. The one in the water was a female with a male close behind trying to mate with her. The dead young beaver may have been killed by an eagle. It was eaten by an adult eagle and three different juveniles over two days. I believe the juveniles were offspring of the adult as she let them feed on it.
I had also seen a mink and many different birds over the past week.IMG_1635.jpegIMG_1638.jpegIMG_1643.jpeg
