• Happy National Keto Day! 🍗🥚♓

Photo of the day

I was hoping to get out that day too, but the wind that ate up the ice on the lake also kept me off the water. Had I gotten out I would have paddled every month in 2024.
Wind and ice also kept me off the water the last few days. I managed to get out Dec 17th, so I notched a paddle every month in 2024 except Jan. I guess if I can get out this month I'll have 12 consecutive months though not in the same calendar year.20241217_151948.jpg

Good for you Glenn. I hope it met your expectations. Where there many other boats out that day? Hahaha

One powerboat. Otherwise, icy silence.

New Year's Eve wasn't windy here on Lake Lillinonah, but on the previous day, December 30, it was overly windy on a long finger of Candlewood Lake, Connecticut's largest. If I hadn't been so eager to try my new-to-me Keewaydin 15 and drysuit, I would normally have passed. Here's a shot down the lake arm when the constant gusts from different directions had died down a bit.

I will be posting a performance review of the canoe in the next few days. Hope to get out one more time before everything freezes.

I'll look forward to your review, Glenn - glad you were able to get out.

Our forecast isn't looking ideal but I might get out this weekend, if I can beat the ice formation. One never knows anymore - we had enough thaw in Feb of 2024 for me to get out for a couple hrs one day.
