Cabin fever here waiting for winter to end. I’ve had my canoe hanging from the ceiling since I finished it. I hadn’t weighed it since varnish, so took it down and weighed it. 37.7 lbs. Ice out in April feels like a long time away.

Nice! Sub-40 on a 1st build is great IMO!

You know, you could always strap it to the roof and drive south... we don't get many TRs in the winter and we'd happily live vicariously through you if you were so inclined...

Made a removable portage yoke. Have a September trip to the BWCA planned, figured I better be able to portage the boat.

This habitual bumbler would lose a removable yoke if it wasn't tied around my neck. I'd want to add a tether of some-sort. Looks great, though!

Everything around here is still froze up, so decided to take a short drive north for my canoes maiden voyage. Boundary Dam Reservoir by Estevan, Saskatchewan stays ice free year round, as a power plant uses water from the reservoir, and then pumps warm water back into the reservoir.

Well, I can report that my boat floats, and I really like it!

Thanks! Not 100% sure yet, but there may be a tandem build in my future.
