A Raven for Christmas

She looks pretty on the water.
I was gonna say you’re too light in the bow as well… then I looked at the profiles of the plan. I think you’re just about spot on. Mean design load is 280 lbs, so I would expect you would ride high.
Those angled accent strips look great!!
My wife said it was a little low in the stern...😏 Uh huh. I told her I could gain about 60 more pounds and still be ok.

Beautiful grain and patterns. What kind of woods did you use?
I haven’t been here for a while. The Raven is beautiful!
I used western red cedar and basswood(white accents) on the hull. One of the cedar boards we cut into strips had a dark streak on one side that provided the contrasting colors. I lucked out in board choice. The seat frames and yoke are cherry and the decks are cherry with an ash framed edge. The gunnels are also ash. The chickadee and sunflower are many different types of wood for each piece, no stain or color enhancement added. Only the branch that the chickadee is standing on and his eye are epoxy and only the stem of the sunflower is epoxy. My son’s talent leaves me in awe.
