Aslowhand and I paddled on Lake Brienz today.
On the Aare River. Aslowhand is the photographer.
It's easy. I told him my iphone battery died. Well, not really, but it does help to ask in person.Erica, you seem to be getting Aslowhand to take pictures of more Swiss waterbodies than usual. Thanks for posting them for our viewing jealousy. What are you doing in Switzerland? Vacation? Mycophilia?
BTW, Glenn, if you want Aslowhand to post about Switzerland, you have to give him a category to put the thread in. (IMO) We have spent a half an hour trying to figure out where to put a trip report for a Swiss trip. There are American and Canadian trip reports.
Oh, my! Love that river and those mountains!First paddle of the year on the Athabasca River near Jasper, Alberta.

Oh, my! Love that river and those mountains!
Beautiful idea. Nice pick. I have some canoeing morning fog on the Miramichi river, NewBrunswick. They are among my favourite pictures and memories.I usually log in to this site every morning as I have my coffee and get ready to head to work. I really enjoy when someone has posted some nice images or trip reports to read to get my day started in the right frame of mind.
I was thinking it might be cool if we posted one photo a day, something canoe related, with a little description to go with it. Keeping it to one a day means that most of us could probably post for a long time, and there would be something new to see each morning.
Anyway, here is my first offering.
This was taken in 2008, early October. It was our usual first school trip of the year, down to the Steel River. The morning was quite cold, the water was still warm, and it was a pea-souper. Fog blew off in about an hour, but it was sure beautiful for that one hour of paddling.
