Stapleless or fill staple holes

A few people have mentioned stripping cove up and then using a dowel placed in the cove to take the pressure so as not to damage the edges. Stripping with the cove down and the bead up seems like it would be a simpler and more effective solution. Even with staples that's how I prefer to do it. Cove up is nice for placing glue until the strips start to turn sideways, then it can be a messy hassle. Applying glue to the strip before placing it onto the forms with the cove down is quick and easy enough.

Alan, I may try bead up if and when I build again since although I used dowels I still had some edge damage on the coves. I placed spring clamps on the forms to hold a strip edge up to apply glue so once I made the turn of the bilge it didn't matter much for getting glue into the cove.
