Here is another shot from the assembly. We are in line for our first paddle by and salute. Lots of nice boats and a great place to paddle.

My new Swift 15.8 Carbon Fusion Cruiser. Bill Swift drove down from Canada and personally delivered it to me at home last week. it has a racing seat with attached integral fully adjustable foot rest, a custom extra high seat (for ease of single blade paddling), and a custom portage yoke attachment.

I have never done a paddle-by but have watched a few, I like how you included your pack basket and pack, well done!

The paddle by was fun to be a part of but we were too far back to see all of the boats and we missed most of the commentary. I wish I had taken more pictures though.

The pack and baskets contained our gear for a paddle we had taken earlier in the day.

At the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association’s assembly, they have all, or most, of the many canoes on display line up and paddle by a viewing deck , one at a time and there is an announcer giving the details of each canoe along with the paddlers names. It’s quite a spectacle, people in costumes, some beautiful canoes, a good time.

This is all that remains of the old waterway where viking ships and other ships from all over Europe sailed in to the Old Town settlement in Lulea, northern Sweden. It went on for a couple of miles like this and we almost made it through to the Old Town. Almost..

The photo seems to show the stern of the canoe. How much weight do you put in the stern when you paddle stern-forward.

That is a beautiful lake. Is it just haze or is that smoke?

Yes it's the stern of the canoe that you see. I put a 20 liter(5.3 gallons) canister in the bow.

It's just haze that you see on the photo. Officials do not recommend to light open fires because it's dry. Most people follow the recommendation. No smoke from fires that day.

The Coleman lives at our vacation house. It will probably be replaced by the Tripper when I buy a lighter main canoe. Until then, it brings back memories of the Colemans everyone seemed to have when I was a kid.
