Nokomis Build

A very beautiful piece of art. Nookomis in Ojibwe means my grandmother it is pronounced Nokomis I know anyone who speaks the language would consider this work a very fitting tribute.

Able to spend a little quality time with Nokomis.
Fit and Screwed on the inwhales, and then fit and clamped on the outwhales.

Now to take apart and glue everything to the hull.
here's a few pics.

Awesome! I leave in a little under 3 weeks. Can we take it on a paddle by then?

Alan

Thanks !
I've got a long ways to go, just getting hard to get time to stay at it ! I want it done, so I can get to CF Nokomis !

Making headway on Nokomis.
Changed my mind on going deckless, just didn't like the look.

Having trouble posting pics from Photobucket.

Figuring out pic posting .
Just put a tape on the gunnels, and outside to outside is 26 1/2", Thinking I'll pull it in a half inch.

I shrugged my duties today (Mowing) and finished mounting thwart, and seat. I'll mow tomorrow ! Priorities.
Then I'll pull the thwart and seat to sand the hull. Wish I had some Epiphanes, but may use the Helmsmans Spar Urethane I have.

FINALLY finish Nokomis !
Now if I can wait for the Watco to dry !
The green Ash I used in the decks looks almost like Cherry once you coat it with Watco.
Here's my latest picks.

Patiently waiting for the maiden voyage pics! Great work

Jason

Me too ! But not quite patient ! I'm slating Saturday as launch time. Now to find some cleaner water than the river in my back yard. Maybe a quarry.

And then I'll be back at my carbon fiber/Kevlar Nokomis.
