It’s pretty absurd about the vax requirement. Much more relevant that you not be infected when traversing the border.
 
It might be absurd but it also might have something to do with these two facts:

The Covid death rate in Canada is 1013 per million vs US rate of 2995 per million.

85.68% of eligible Canadians are fully (2 doses) vaccinated.

Depending on the reason for a visit it is possible to enter Canada without proof of vaccination, you would be required to have negative tests before entry and following entry (multiple tests) AND quarantine for 10 days is mandatory.

Note: Canadians wishing to visit the USA require full vaccination (2 doses) for entry.
 
I’m glad the quarantines are over. I stopped planning a trip requiring commercial and charter planes because of the quarantine, possible delays in getting the PCR results just before entering Canada and then what if, even doubly vaccinated and boosted, I happen to test positive? It just seemed like a potential nightmare. Driving, worse comes to worse, I stay in the US and paddle in ADKs or Michigan.

I do have a smart phone. But, thanks for the offer yc.
