Show pictures of your tent(s) on a canoe trip

A recent thread asked about recommendations for a tent. I realized that, from the digital camera and photo site age, I only have pictures of my newest tent, the three-person Nemo Losi 3P, which I highly regard.

Show us pics of tents your tent(s) on a canoe trip or near water. Please tell us what kind of tent it is and the location. And maybe something about the features of the tent that you like or dislike.

I liked my old Timberline 4 man for solo trips and still bring it on occasion,





I went with a North Face Pebble for a while but it's seen better days. I liked the Timberline's ventilation/openness more and will no doubt buy another one if needed. Maybe a 2 man Timberline with a vestibule.



I have my most nights out in this wall tent, over 60 now.

Mountain Hardware Trango3.1 on the Green River. Why a four season tent? Not much mesh..Desert silt blowing in was a bugaboo in our Marmot Limelight 3 which has more mesh.

And because it is well ventilated we did not cook inside.W indsqualls ( we had snow one day) never bothered the tent. That model used to be used for Everest Basecamp.

Robin has the coolest wall tent around. I have one that is 40 years old but 10x14 and hard to pack around. I bought it for hunting with my Dad and 2 brothers.

Super windy and rainy trips, I sent my tarp low and live under there cooking, and hanging out.

Man I hate early spring heavy cold winds ...

This is by a new start up co. called Sloth and Fox. I loved it, hung my hammock through it and my pup and all my gear go in it. No need for a ridge line, bug net or rain fly over my hammock, makes setting up and taking down fast and simple. Used it for the first time last week for 5 nights in the BWCA.

My favourite all time canoe tripping tent, Timberline Outfitter 6. Sometimes on solo trips without many ports, I still take it. This pic is on a weird little haunted lake north of G Town.

North Face Rock 22 on an island bar in the Susquehanna River



here the Rock 22 sits on a little tuft of grass along the James River.


On a gravel bar next to the Rio Grande in Big Bend NP.

The Rock 22 was a solid little tent which I spent ~two hundred nights in. It withstood torrential rains and wind that blew away the tents of companions. The floor had become somewhat porous but it was the failure of an aluminum pole that set me on a search for a replacement.





the replacement of the Rock is a Teton Sports (black on yellow), a cheap tent off the Internet that had specs that looked good. It has a crossing ridge pole that holds the vestibule away from the tent, a big deal IMO, because In foul weather I can open the door without having water dump into the living area. However, I think the fly will eventually crap out near the ridge pole ends because there is no reinforcing at that point. Above photo in a field of sage along the Missouri River.
