My wife and I drove our daughter Rachel to her wedding ceremony in Norfolk CT in the old Willys; the canoe that was made for her and her husband by the old man (me). The Willys is a 1958 ( I figured somebody will ask). It was a perfect wedding.

I've got a modern 4 door jeep , a sorry answer for my longing for an old willys , from time to time I see an original on craigslist but alas I'm a hopeless dolt when it comes to mechanical aptitude. Beautiful union of my two favorite modes of transportation , Tamarack !

I was blessed to own a 1956 Willys years ago. That vehicle never failed me as so many of the newer ones can do. On a more important note; glad the wedding went well. That's a beautiful gift that I'm sure the lucky couple will enjoy for years to come.

Too cool!! What a fantastic wedding gift, I assume they both will make good use of it. I did look up the driving distance...somewhere around 13 miles?
If you're a regular here, you already know that I'm a boat builder too. But I'm also a Jeep guy. Currently driving an '05 LJ, which has already become collectible.
Brought an '84 CJ8 back from dust with my son when he was 15, he still drives it regularly, says he'll never sell it.
Also finishing up a too long (on the calendar) SOA on my '77 CJ5. Daughter has a CJ5 for the woods and a '47 Willys pick up.
Here's my CJ5, it's extremely capable off road, weighs just over 2,000 lbs and has one (count 'em) vacuum hose.

A few years ago, I passed on a '64?? Willys Wagon, too many projects...I should have bought it and just let it simmer.
I still love those split window wagons. I have about a million questions but will keep it simple:
Do you have the original drive train in it? Did you do the restoration work yourself?

I hope these pictures come thru. I don't often, in my opinion, see jeeps much cooler than my 1975 J20, but your Willys takes the prize! I'm not proud that I'm jealous!
