Shirts for canoeing and canoe camping

All this talk about the original bug shirt finds me at their website. They have an interesting bug net that goes under the arms. Has anyone ever tried it? I'm curious about the under-the-arm draw string comfort.

As referenced above, here's my favorite river shirt. Hoping someone can help me track down any brand with the same feature: an extra collar flap. It covers the top of my neck for sun protection when a wide brim hat doesn't quite cast a long enough shadow. I'm not yet a proficient enough seamstress to tackle it myself, though I suppose it probably wouldn't be too difficult.

Pseudonym, the Mountain Hardwear Canyon shirt has that feature.

I mentioned Rynoskin in an earlier post on this thread. The order arrived and everythin looks good though with snow ice/storms we have had, skeeters are not a problem yet, so no real world testing.

I'm 6-3 215 and usually wear a 2x shirt and xl pants, which is what I ordered as well as the one size fits all gloves. The fit was good on all counts though a slightly longer shirt tail might have been nice. I'd be tempted to go with a 3x if i was to order again, just for the length. It's like a slick and clingy synthetic muscle shirt type material. The material weave is supposed to be thick enough to prevent bites....time will tell. DEET is horrible on plastic, fishing line ect so if nothing else, as long as they ward off bugs the gloves are a total win. They fit a bit like medical exam gloves though not as snug. While doing EMT stuff I wear xl. Smaller hands might have a bit of fingertip slop in them but they fit me well.

On the non bug issue days or possibly as an overshirt I picked up a couple shirts from Windrider. I have some winter gloves and flotation ice fishing gear from them and absolutely love them, so gave their summer stuff a shot. Skin cancer is bad so ordered two of their Helios fishing shirts in size 3x. A little baggy, long enough and very comfortable. The face gater and or the hood both lay back and are non obtrusive. Happy with the purchase, would buy again.
