I learned a lot on this project since the repairs and fabrication of new parts was more extensive than on previous canoes, but most of all I learned something about patience. There were many family and business obligations that put the project on the back burner, details that required lots of thought before plunging into the work, and then cold weather delayed the finish work after filling the canvas last October. I'm very pleased with the results and in retrospect it has been worth the wait. And I even received a fine compliment this morning from my wife who noticed that I had put on the brass stem bands... "this is my favorite canoe you've done". Maybe me too! Sea trials await; well, fresh water trials anyway, with a paddling review to come...
