Nice photos Tim. There may be a lifetime guarantee on that rod, check with the manufacturer.
Thanks.
Unfortunately, it was an Orvis Outlet rod that carries no warranty. As it was explained to me, someone else likely snapped the tip, returned it under warranty and took the option to upgrade to a current model. Orvis repaired, rebadged as Outlet, and resold it through their outlet to me for 60% off. It was a great deal until it snapped! Broke the bottom half, so I figure it’d be cheaper to buy the same outlet rod again than to pay to replace 75% of the rod. Though, I suppose it’s worth a call to find out.

Great photos on the Winooski Tim! My son lives in Jericho, so we're always in and around Richmond. I haven't paddled the Winooski; where is a good place to put in for an afternoon paddle?

Thanks, Pat

Hi Patrick! The rivers here are pretty sensitive to water levels, and are generally too low for the later half of the summer. It was around 900cfs on Sunday and we were still scraping through the shoals in the wide spots. It’s generally class I below Bolton, but it’s a really fun, varied and beautiful ride with class II spots from Moretown Dam to Waterbury, or Bolton Dam to Honey Hollow. I’ll try to send you the map in a private message to continue the conversation there. There’s also Waterbury Reservoir, Green River Rez, the Lamoille River and Mallets Bay on Champlain within a short drive from Jericho.

Lovely picture Andre,

Do you know the mountains in your picture? Am I seeing the Mittelhorn just left of center, and the Jungfrau Massif to the right?

Patrick, I know those mountains pretty good and you are right, the famous Jungfrau Massif to the right and the less known chain of Wetterhorn - Mittelhorn - Rosenhorn to the left of the centre.

As I thought. In my youth I climbed the Dossenhorn, Mittelhorn & Rosenhorn; returning to the Rosenlauihutte the same day. Wonderful mountains. My time in the Berner Oberland is deeply etched in my memory.
