Spent some time in northern Maine last week learning a little about fly fishing. The instructor took us to this nice stream, no fish for me but the atmosphere was world class.

Yes, it’s the Saint Croix Stream, coming out of Saint Croix Lake. It enters the Aroostook River just south of the town of Masardis, Maine. It has some white water but the Jack Mountain Bushcraft school takes their students down it, paddling, poling, and lining in solo loaded canoes.Gorgeous. Is the stream paddleable?

Looks great! We have low water levels right now, bad for some things but great for water clarity! Wakulla Spring has something like 70’ visibility at the moment which, sad to say, is no longer the norm. I plan to get out on the Wacissa this weekend with kids. The clear cold water will feel amazing!Just got back from the Upper Suwannee. A few pics for now. View attachment 131234View attachment 131235View attachment 131236
