Sunday night, after a sudden storm's passing over downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario... looking east with the day's warm air moving off towards the Atlantic with the new high bringing in cold northern air. Some unusual linear formations of clouds started forming at that moment for some unexplained reason. Maybe because the previous several days were unusually warm and humid, suddenly changing to dry northern air.
PS.... absolutely nobody canoeing or kayaking that evening because of the high wind gusts blowing out into the lake. Jetskiers however did have the power to get out there and return.
Even though the sugar maples were past peak this last weekend, there still was some color on this moist north-facing slope... still no hard frost so the ferns were looking almost tropical in places.
Sunday had been cloudy all day, but towards evening a west wind left clear skies for the Orionid meteor shower. But even after getting up at 2 AM that night and a previous night, only one meteor was seen... after all the hype in the news reports.
