Yikes, you are suggesting having somebody sleeping back there while driving?
Can't see that being legal in Canada. Sounds dangerous too.
Sleeping back there while driving would be difficult. It would be very hard to reach the pedals or steering wheel, and hard to see the road with your eyes closed.
I am sure with current seatbelt laws it is illegal. And dangerous. But doing paddling trips 2000 mile distant with a partner/second driver it is the difference between taking three days to get there, incurring motel or campground costs along the way, vs doing it in 30 hours nonstop.
