New Brunswick Canoe Trips

Let's discuss canoe trips in NewBrunswick. I lived in NewBrunswick for 33 years but originally from Cape Breton Nova Scotia. Don't get me wrong....Cape Breton has splendour but there is just something about the wilderness of NewBrunswick. I can't put my finger on why but the Miramichi river system holds a special place with me. There is no place where the people identify with the river as much as Miramichi and I'm one of them and I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's the history and nostagia of past trips that lure me but I'm not sure. I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this and see their NewBrunswick trips.

I"ll start by posting a just ok quality video of a trip I had down the Cains River in 2014.

You guys need bigger canoes. I trust that there are no portages?

BTW: hail stinks when the only protection you have is a rain jacket. Thankfully, it didn't look like big chunks.

When you go for 5 days you need camping gear, fishing gear, food and coolers and coolers full of beer. Haha. When I trip solo I use my old town tripper 17.2

The cold was unexpected. We awoke to cold and damp so I wore every piece of clothes I had. It kept me warm enough to enjoy the experience.

I see... it's the coolers of beer that I'm forgetting (I carry a 1/2 gallon flask of brandy to save weight).
