Hi Folks,
Anyone have any experience with short 1/2 day trips via canoe in Fort William, Scotland? The River Lochy seems to be a place to go, but curious to hear some firsthand reports. Heading there with family this summer and doing some day dreaming (instead of work?.. maybe).

I did a short day paddle on the Caledonian Canal once, starting just above Neptune's Staircase and turning around at the Gairlochy locks. Easy flatwater and very scenic. If you're looking to do a multi-day trip, there's an established paddle trail along the Caledonian Canal between Fort William and Inverness, with campsites along the way. There are also towns where you could stay in more civilized lodging if you prefer. Two days probably isn't enough to do the whole canal unless you're really booking it.
