Thanks guys. @Clint, I hadn't thought about snaps right on the outwale, that would be tidy. @yknpdlr, your Hornbeck setup sure looks slick. I don't know how to sew, so whatever I do it will be adhesive or heat seal fabric. A good winter project.

The Hornbeck cover is attached with snaps that are screwed into the wood gunwale. The waterstop dam is a rolled foam noodle. The 2" wide velcro half strip on the voyageur and C4 is attached to the hull over the gunwale with contact cement, and the other half is sewn onto the fabric.
