Um, it sure looks like the ear seat tilts in the opposite direction of the shear line and the upward tilt of the rear seat (on 2 boats) is what made me curious. Maybe it's more comfortable for sitting (like a beach chair), or maybe it's for better control when the boat is going downhill running rapids, or maybe that's actually the front seat and the bow paddler is an elf.

You're right! the rear seat setup does look strange- good eyes!
Definitely not a factory setup that I know of- my hangers were replaced using originals for length.

I was about to say you guys were nuts. It is normal for the seat hangers to be different in size following the shear, but you're right in this particular set up the hangers do appear a little longer than normal. They are factory originals though, this particular canoe was made specifically for one of the managers friend. The hangers length is either an Oromocto era mistake or custom request....
