Just got back from sailing the Bahamas. No bugs on the open water. No seeums were bad around islands. I still think Canada has the worst bugs.

We may not have the biggest, bestest, beastliest bugs but they're ours. But if they're the worst, well, sorry. And thanks btw for noticing us and them.

Been in the bush the last two weeks. Mosquitos are still atrocious, even during the day. Weird year, usually by this time, they are mostly gone. At least the snakes up here are friendly, the leaches well behaved, and a pike hasn't stolen my ding-a-ling yet. I'll take that any day compared to some countries that have spiders the size of small deer and lizards that change colours on your ceiling.

Well I guess you can put Maine into Canada.. The skeeters are doing well still.. And also the occasional blackfly.. June was wet and cold and the BF will have repeated hatches till fall to replace their population. Hee hee the no seeums are having a keg party too.. You know the no seeums that Cliff Jacobsen says do not exist and drove him mad during a presentation here
Nothing compares to the mangrove tunnels of Everglades FL.. No wind.. Wind takes care of most bugs

Way cool. Love cypress swamps and gators
Especially mamas and babies
We arent really on the menu unless we back them into a corner without an escape route
