Why are wheels undersized on ORVs? I’ve been looking at them for use on he sandy roads as well as to plow snow. Bigger wheels would be best for the latter. My theory is the manufacturers don’t want them to be useable in snow because they also make snowmobiles. Change my mind.

30 inch tires with 16 inches of ground clearance and 1000 cc engine. Don't know how it would work in snow but it works just fine in water and mud.

Around ‘ere, Steve in Idaho, you can’t shuttle on all roads. Street vehicles just aren’t designed for these roads. I would consider getting a side by side if it had other useful capabilities, namely snow removal.

So there. Dots all connected. Sometimes you just need to have faith.

I suspect it has a lot to do with available hp and gear ratios. That, and stability. I doubt that it has anything to do with competition with snowmobiles. OHVs will never do what snowmobiles can do. You can get track conversions that turn an OHV into a very capable snow machine, but it still won't compete with the current crop of snowmobiles - not to mention, the timbersleds.

For home use snow removal, I find a self propelled snowblower far more useful than a OHV with plow. Anything more, and I'd rather have a truck or small tractor.

Ken, that one would possibly tow my trailer just fine in a pinch. Prices are pretty crazy for what it is. No shortage of buyers, for sure. Kan I ask what the towing capacity is?

Yeah, there's a few places around here that a SxS OHV would be my first choice for a shuttle vehicle if I could justify the cost.
