Your favorite small piece of gear.. not big stuff.. Small doo dad

Toss up for me between an insulated mug for my hot drinks - and a custom lathe built 3 LED flashlight that is super small, super neat...use both all the time and both give me equal pleasure w just how good and useful they are.

Swiss army pocket knife. Tinkerer model. I think I'd rather go without underwear, than without my Swiss army knife !
Close toss up anyway !

The wave Jute fire starter a la Hoop would be mine!! I like them so much I made 8 of them to put in 8 red pouches for my wife and daughter, and My hunting buddy, his wife and 3 kids!! Sophie 9, lighted her first fire using it yesterday!!

I really like my opinel knife.

I also like my felt packer hat.

My axe.... I never go anywhere w/o my axe... Is an axe to big for that thread?

Cotton handkerchief, hands down. I use it a lot on canoe trips and every day life. It comes in handy when cooking even with those cold handles around a fire. Bush coffee filter, or drying off after a coyote breakfast (kneeling on a rock at daybreak, take a drink, wash your face and have a good look around)

Also good for stopping the bleeding after a hook extraction from a finger. :(

I have a Tomahawk Junior made by Bridgeport Tools that belonged to my grandfather. Clips to my belt via the old custodian-style "key-safe".

Sponge for mopping up water in the canoe... a little larger and heavier are binoculars which I've been using more and more often, for everything. But mainly for observing the neighbors across the lake when they think nobody's looking.

... hehehe... heh, heh, heh, heh....

A toss up between:

Delta Windmill lighter. Shockproof, windproof, waterproof. Bombproof.

Made better only by the tiny fuel tank adaptor thingee Conk turned me on to, so I can refill the lighter from an iso-butane stove canister in the field. This little thing:

Or maybe high quality sunglasses. I am frugal and bought cheap sunglasses for too many years. The first time I put on a pair of sunglasses with quality optics it was like I had entered a whole new world of shaded vision.

Unfortunately sunglasses are kinda like PFD’s or pants; you really need to try them on for head fit and comfort first.

My favorite little doo-dad is a Buck Nano Bantam knife that goes with me everywhere on my keychain. I've been carrying it every day, everywhere (except airports) for the last 5+ years now.

Close second is a Stipula Passaporto pocket fountain pen that goes in the "fifth pocket" (watch pocket) of my jeans. They are hard to get now. I have two (blue, clear) which I got through Massdrop. The blue one has an upgraded custom nib that writes a little more fancy and to my liking. This way, wherever I go I know I can have a civilized writing device.
