Super late reply...apologies. Somehow, I missed the thread notice here and didn't see your original question. I hope your trip into Wabakimi went well.
Yep, I stay away from treble hooks mostly because they get caught in the net or worse, my hands. How was the fishing for you? Which parts of Wabakimi did you get into?
Outstanding report. Was paddling upstream on Caribou River difficult? I’ll go back and glean some comments for fishing information. I’m trying to be minimalist on that.
Up the Caribou? Not really difficult. Of course, there were some upstream swifts that we had to work against, but it was manageable even in high water conditions for early August. We chose to wade up the second set of rapids coming out of Funger rather than take the port, but there was a portage there.
