Trapper Nelson Indian pack boards

I started backpacking in 1960, and my Dad lent me his Trapper Nelson for many trips. Now it hangs in his basement in Seattle and is still in good shape.

Dad is 97 and now has moved to assisted living.
I brought the Trapper Nelson home and I look at it every day. It makes be imagine what it is like to be 12 again and hitting the open road with no adults around.

Update, Dad is now 98 and living at home. I am going to start using the TN for day hikes. I love the thing.

I bought a down mummy bag from the Alaska Sleeping Bag Co right around 1969. They went out of business soon after that. I never got the bag or a refund. It was crushing to lose $85 back in those days.

I too lost some money when they closed Ppine. I forget what it was I was buying but I still remember the loss and frustration.
