Square back skid plate placement

Hello everyone,
My Winona Backwater needs a bow skid plate. The stern has some wear, but not as bad as the bow.

If I’m going through the trouble of doing a bow plate, is it worth it to do the stern too?
If yes, what would be the best orientation?

I’m not concerned about drag, weight or looks. I’m using a 3HP electric motor.

Wherever the stern is showing some wear is the place the skid should go.

It would be helpful if you posted some pics showing the wear.

I have never liked the felt skid plates. They look clunky and interfere with the entry lines on sheer canoes. I like a couple of layers of fiberglass tape and marine epoxy and then paint to match the rest of the hull.
