Reservations made for Algonquin 2016

Mentioned this on other thread, Jeff's Maps came in the mail today! Still waiting for the 2 Algonquin maps that I ordered from the park. Time to look at your ideas, hope you don't mind. Crazy but I'm already looking at different gear to use and boots. Gotta go, wife is calling.

Hmm I sent a message but didn't go through, oh well. Jeff's maps came in the mail today! Actually corresponding to Jeff via email, very nice and helpful. Still waiting for the 2 other maps from Algonquin park. Better news is that my passport is good until 2019! yea! Looking at your ideas guys, thanks.

Ha Ha I just got my passport this year to goto Algonquin also. I just ordered all 3 maps sets padding fishing and hiking from Friends of Algonquin. and I got the guide on the Petewawa I haven't decided yet on a white water trip or flat water. I just bought another kevlar canoe I live in Mass and drove to Saranac Lake NY
to look at solo canoes. I am a big guy 280 lb with gear at least I tried a Swift Shearwater and it was like sitting on a cork even kneeling no way would I sit in in I this tried a Wenonaha wilderness I could sit in that one but I could not do a cross stroke and it was two tippy for me. So then I went to the Outfitter where I got my SR Quetico 17 and they had and 18.5 so I grabbed that since I have one grandchild and another on the way and 2 labs. Unfortunately I have been laid up with gout so I have not gotten out. I am doing the the Moose Bow trip in Maine Memorial day weekend Lost half the people that were coming but still a 5 of us.
Going to see If I can get some of them to go to Algonquin its about 9 hours from my house Allagash is 7 and Moose Bow is 4.5 so it doable plainning on Aug or Sept if I can get some one to go Looking forwar to getting back on water

Congrats on the new ride, hope you're feeling well enough to enjoy it soon. My new passport just arrived a few days ago, so thats one less thing to worry about.

JoeO we just picked up an SR Propector 16 in Saranac Lake yesterday. You must live in Eastern Mass and still drive like hell to get to the Allagash in 7 hours.

Got my permits! Only one lake was booked but another one was close by. Here's the plan.
Access point #6 Smoke, 1st night Big Porcupine, 2nd night North Grace, 3rd night Lake Louisa, 4th night Lawrence (kirkwood was closed up) 5th night back in Big Porcupine (heard it is worth 2 nights there) 6th night in Ragged to relax and take it all in, then take out the next morning.

Thanks to all for sharing this ideas and opinions, but I'm not finished yet pm'ing some of you, if that's ok? Talk soon, whoo hooo! My wife says that I'm acting like a baby because I'm so excited. Guess she doesn't get it, I did invite her but it was a quick response.

But, smart me asked her to ok the trip the day after I signed a check for new kitchen appliances. That she gave a whoo hoo for, hmmm I don't get it? Life is good, health and happiness to all. Now to start packing light and exercising! I love this site, thanks Robin!
