After our St. Croix river trip in a 17" Grumman (low water)I decided to get something that would slide off rock, not stick to them! I found it on Craigs list yesterday, 17" Old Town White Wilderness .He was asking 400, I offered 300 and he took it. He was 16 miles away so off I went. The canoe is 28 years old, so he said and spent most of it's life inside a building. We paddled it a bit tonight, paddles nicely, better than a tripper. We both went through the dry caning on our seats! I think I'm going to like it. I guess I'll finally part with my wood canvas Sullivan canoe works canoe. She has hung up under my porch for many years. A fast paddling canoe but unforgiving, I've been tossed twice. Hope to spend some time this summer paddling that new red canoe.

17 inch canoe is pretty small. Caning can be replaced. We did several seats on our neighborhood fleet in exchange for someone putting in our dock.

$300 ?? For that price you can order new seats from Conk and still be way ahead of the game. Aaaaaand stylin. Three hundred for a canoe that actually floats and is usable. I may have to branch out of the w/c thing into composite.
