Southwest Washington State
We sold our house on the dry side of Wa State and moved into our vacation house on the Southwest Washington coast. We are literally surrounded by water. The Columbia River, Willapa Bay and the Pacific Ocean are all minutes away. There are also many small rivers and sloughs.

I picked up a local book on paddling trips today. Looking forward to exploring the area.

Anyone else on the South Washington/North Oregon coast?

I just did the opposite move. Left the CA coast and came to Eastern WA.

From what I have heard that last section of the Columbia is a popular trip, just stay near the shore and watch for the big boats.
We have had the vacation house for about 12 years. We sold our house near Yakima Wa and moved to the coast full-time.
Where abouts in Eastern Wa are you located?

Tri Cities. Right where the Yakima, Columbia and Snake rivers meet.

I have cousins that live in Yakima, seems that it's a good place to move away from these days.

Lots of good paddling in Central Wa. Check out the Tapteal Water Trail on the Yakima River for something very close to your location.

Yakima is not terrible, but it does have a lot of crime fir it's size. I work in healthcare. I have seen some stuff ...
