This is an image of a framed picture of Kathleen in her new Mohawk XL13, which she purchased in 1989 (Serial Number MMN75956G989).

At the time we lived in North Vancouver, only 10 minutes away from the lower Seymour River, with Class II rapids. We paddled often ofter work and on weekends. In 2003 we moved to Pender Island, where we did a lot of tandem ocean canoeing. No more solo white water. We have not used the Mohawk since 2003. It is time to turn it over to some one who will enjoy it as much as Kathleen did. Asking only $200.00 CAN.

It has been stored under cover all those years!

In 2008, we moved to Preeceville, Saskatchewan. No white water opportunities near by.

Three years ago I sold my Dagger Rival. I still miss it.

Soon after Kathleen purchased the Mohawk, she replaced the original heavy, awkward saddle with a foam saddle, knee pads and thigh straps.

For perspective, Kathleen is five feet, one inch. Boat comes completely outfitted, except for Kathleen.

Here are a couple of better images. When Kathleen bought the Mohawk in 1989, it was considered a small play boat. Not so, any more. Even with her shortish stature, however, Kathleen was able to easily reach both sides of the boat. Here she is practicing her ferries at the put in on the lower Seymour River in North Vancouver.

With its bulbous bow and stern, the Mohawk XL13 is a dry boat. It rides high, bobbing through rapids like a cork.

In case you were wondering, our home in Preeceville is about three hours due east of Saskatoon, nearish to the western border of Manitoba.

I would love to add this boat to my Mohawk collection but I doubt I'll be anywhere near your area until next Summer!

Any chance you are coming east?

We do not get east very often, recped. In fact, the farthest east we have ever driven is Thompson, Manitoba, as part of our trip on the Seal River. We are in no hurry to sell or move the boat out of our barn. Next summer would be just fine. Maybe one of us can track down someone passing nearby here on their way east. So you are definitely interested? That would be great!

I wish you were still in N Van--my daughter lives in Bellingham, so I get there pretty regularly. Just about any floating canoe is worth $200 CDN (what's that, about $1.50 US?).

Mason,

North Vancouver was nice. We could paddle year round. The lower Seymour River run was great. About 90 minutes, ending at tide water, followed by a trip to the pub.

It rained way too much for us, though. About 90 inches per year. We much prefer the sun of Saskatchewan. If only there was white water nearby, it would be perfect. But then again, we are getting older. Our white water play boating days might be over, even if we still lived only 10 minutes from the Seymour River.

Just want to report that the boat has sold, to a canoe instruction company in Whitehorse. We will be taking it up to Whitehorse on Monday, en-route to our canoe trip on the Yukon River. Thanks to Canotrouge for putting us in touch with the buyer!
