Mini-, cordless Chainsaws

Does the electric saw have a chain brake in it? If not, that could be why they would cut through chaps. I had a kickback once, chain went right into my chaps and the brake immediately clicked on, because the kevlar fiber in the chaps tangles and triggers it. Still knocked me on my arse and left a bruise, but I had a leg afterward. Can't always rely on releasing the trigger instantly in a kickback situation, in fact, you might press harder on it.

My Stihl MS 170 weighs nothing, and is the perfect canoe saw, in my opinion.

My EGO electric chain saws stop fast, practically instantly when I release trigger. I think it's the nature of electric motors, not brakes.

My neighbor let me try his mini cordless chainsaw to trim alders around my property. My first impression was that it did a real good job and had good battery life. My second impression was that it was a lot more dangerous to use than a more conventional two handed chain saw.
