Gracie got a boat ride on a small local lake. She's still a beginner and today we flushed out several geese at very close range and she stayed in the boat (with strong encouragement and gentle restraint). For Gracie geese are right up there with squirrels for excitement.

We both like it when you can see the bottom.

Great picture! Almost nothing warms my heart more than seeing a beagle enjoying a canoe ride. It brings back fond memories of the many wonderful hours I spent 45 years ago in my first canoe with my two beloved, hyperactive but attentive, beagles. Thanks for posting the picture, Gumpus, and keep the pictures coming!

After being petless for 30 years I inherited two cats when my Mother passed away. One of them was very interested in the canoes when they were on shore so one day I threw him in and took him for a ride. This was the end of last season and he hasn't been out since. I'm curious to see if this is something he can get used to.

Sure. But how can you tell if she's enjoying it? 😉

Here’s me, in Saskatchewan, running our newly-adopted sled dog pets from our friends in Inuvik. January 1, 2009.Brownie front left. Sailor front right. Grey rear left. Slick rear right. They loved to run, and often ignored the command to take the trail heading home.

That looks and sounds like a precious experience. Fun for everyone. It's nice to have partners with a lot of enthusiasm.
