I moved the thread to the Whitewater forum, from the General Discussion forum, because running giant waterfalls (intentionally) is a whitewater activity, the clip was of a famous whitewater boater in a specialized whitewater kayak, and I suspected that any discussion would likely be whitewater oriented.

Presumably, his company, Jackson Kayak, or its insurer. Dane's full time job, apparently, is to travel the world to paddle the biggest, highest and most epic waters possible, and to compete in freestyle K1 and C1 competitions and downriver races all over the world, and to produce videos of his feats, to promote Jackson Kayak models.

Jackson also makes whitewater freestyle open canoes, but they are hardly recognizable hulls to traditionalists like most of us. However, we can spend the next 90 seconds broadening our open canoe minds and bucket lists for when we are reincarnated as fearless 18 year olds wanting to play open canoes in the Garburator Wave on the Ottawa River:

Bill, I'm unclear on what's bothering you. Your entire OP was: "Kayak over 134' waterfall. Not me." Followed by a video. I think that makes your negative view of such an activity, for yourself, crystal clear.

However, as admin, I had to anticipate that other people (including me as a poster) might take the video as an opportunity to discuss: different opinions about running waterfalls; the merits, demerits, dangers or joys of running waterfalls or other difficult whitewater; or the famous whitewater paddler in the video.

Feel free to PM me if you really want to change your OP in some way. Members are entitled to request important and reasonable changes after their 48 hour editing period expires, as long as the change won't impair the thread discussion that has already been built up.

Those video clips are pretty spectacular. I have no interest AT ALL in doing any of the runs that Glenn posted, but I wish I had just a tiny bit of the skills and reflexive actions that allowed D Jackson to make it through to the end of those runs alive and still smiling. In one of the clips he is actually paddling and changing position as he is falling within the column of water in the falls-who does that?

I can only imagine the price he will pay when he is on the wrong side of 60, I hope he smiles when he thinks back to the fun and excitement. Man I wish I was young again!

There are a few shorts on YouTube that are really amazing. He does a double flip on a huge wave, I think it's on the Zambezi. I don't know how you can get enough force to rotate a kayak twice.
