Hello everyone!

I've done a bit of canoeing over the years starting with summer camp at about 8 years old. We got our first canoe this year and have taken several river trips. My kids are 4 and 6 years old, so we have been trying to stick to slow and easy rivers. I'm really interested in doing some longer trips and canoe camping as the kids get older, so I guess I'm in the information-gathering stage now Any insight on tripping (and canoeing in general) with smaller children would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome Jeremy, good plan, start them young. My daughter has 2 boys 3 and 5 and I'm renting a cabin next July in the North Maine Woods, 5 days of canoe instruction and just having fun with Mom, Dad and Grandparents, and two big wood canvas canoes.
