Free boat....

A while back a friend contacted me to see if I was interested to buy a Madriver Guide 14 solo canoe.... and then I told him that I didn't have the money... Then he contacted me again and offered me to give it to me if.... I would get it on the water again!!! The boat have several cold crack and some of them to mid hull.... So lots of work but the boat is free and come with spray deck, flotation and fully outfitted, knee pads thigh straps and all!! So I will fix it and give it to my 10 years old daughter!! It has wood gunnels that are in decent shape!!
I will post pictures after I bring it home!!

Cantroughe free is good. Have had the same deal in the past. Turned around an gave it to a friend. Will be interested to see how you deal with the cold cracks, I had a hell of time with them on one boat.

I've done lots of them, probably 100 over the years!! so I don't have to much to fear about!! The boats never looks new but the are sounds and they never crack again!!

The Mad River Guide/Freedom Solo is my favorite downriver day tripper.

Smaller folks with lighter loads might find it agreeable as a tripping canoe, but for my purposes it shines as a day boat on everything from twisty swamp runs to mild whitewater to gentle streams.

Something about that hull makes it want to go where it should go in moving water.
