Who’s still paddling a Royalex solo boat

Paddling an Old Town Cascade currently as my solo.
Also in the Royalex stable: MR Explorer, OT Camper 16, Galyans woodsman III( Bell northwind16)
And a KL Malecite that needs gunnels.
Future possibilities: Northstar Phoenix, Eaglet solo, Srt, Wildfire
I am about to get a soloized Cascade - do you love yours? I am sure they can be a challenge on a windy lake, but my hope is that it will be my go-to for river tripping (particularly on waters like the Missinaibi)...

I like it, not in love with it as at this point I’m using it as my do all solo boat. I think it’s more of a niche river tripping boat. Think I would prefer something a bit narrower. Not the best tool when on windy lakes and wide windy rivers. A C stroke is mandatory there. It is stable and easy to maneuver. But as my only 15’ boat I’ll run what I brung!

My Freedom Solo is the closest I have to a whitewater boat.

I've witnessed that model do well enough on long stretches of class 2+ with an improvised spray skirt and a couple stops to bail. I stood in the same boat and poled it in moving water. Being a descendant of the Guide and the Courier, you could do much worse. A pretty desirable all-around canoe IMO.
