my buddy is making a carbon copy of my (still being built) 17ft freedom. We are going the route of foam to increase the structural integrity of the boat. Looking around there are a ton of different divinely weights...what are your favorite weight lay up on a boat the has two layers of 6oz carbon in between 6oz e glass and an s glass football?

I just reviewed my carbon copy Kite build...I had (from outside to inside) 2 layers of 6 oz E-glass, 2 layers of 5.9 oz carbon, a football only layer of 1/8" H80 Divinycell, a single layer of 5.9 oz carbon (using smallish scraps). I have been beating the snot out of that hull for the past 3 years now, it's holding up extremely well.

The bottom is incredibly stiff, might have been able to eliminate a layer of carbon and a layer of glass.
If I ever get my house finished, I plan to build a full composite with 2 layers of 4 oz glass on both sides of some 1/8" or 1/4" H80. IMHO, there is no need for any carbon, unless you're looking for a particular aesthetic, or bragging rights.
