In the IT business they're known as "percussive security". Smash a hard drive with a big enough rock, and you'll defeat the NSA.

Not exactly my favorite stakes but very useful for some jobs. I got these big stakes from a brother-in-law who was a longtime employee of Snap-On Tools Corporation. They started life as tire tools but were rejected for various reasons. I originally had 10-12 of them but now have 8. Car camping use only, but great for heavy duty staking jobs.
