Duluth Pack Repair

On my last trip, to the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association assembly and a couple of days in the adjacent St. Regis Canoe Area, ripped out the center strap buckle and broke one of the flap strap tails.

Don't tell Uncle Sam I used a couple of pennies as flat washers.... the one that shows is from 1960; probably the age of the pack. tempImage2ZHMdg.pngtempImage2uNh8j.pngtempImagedEIT6U.pngtempImageOmVyNM.pngtempImagewv3CRG.png

Nice repair job. Not my two cents worth, it’s yours. Much cheaper that sending it to Duluth for repairs.
Good on you.

If you wanted copper, you got copper.

"The 1960 Lincoln penny is made of 95 percent copper, and the rest is made of tin and zinc. This has been the composition of Lincoln pennies from 1909 to 1982, except in 1943, when copper was made with zinc-plated steel. From 1982 to this day, the Lincoln penny was made of 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper."
