I'm getting ready for my annual canoe in deer hunt with my canvas tent and wood stove. I bring a wanigan but this year I'm making life easier and more organized by using scrap canvas from recent canoe canvasing to make some items for keeping things easier to find.

First item is for some kitchen utensils. My sewing leaves something to be desired but it's good enough for my tastes and it works,

Next is a map holder, then another holder for oil, salt, and syrup, maybe a book holder with a flash lite pouch.

Looking good Robin... if you had use white thread instead of black, we wouldn't have notice the sewing you pointed out;)
You will become the holder master... For some reason that doesn't sound that great... Ha hat is because us franch canadian don't pronounce "H" or when we do we don't do it at the right place!!

Robin - That's a nice set up. We had a similar commercially made pouch back in Boy Scouts when we camped in canvas wall tents years ago. Oh yea...that's what you're doing! What goes around comes around I guess. You can't keep a good idea down.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

I have something similar that I got with my kitchen Duluth Pack back in 99'. It sure is nice in camp to have that hanging. Nice job on the sewing job BTW, I wouldn't even attempt it and besides I'm banned for life from the sewing machine! ;-)

Very nice Robin, I made one from a cloth painters drop cloth a couple years ago. I made it to fit the side of my wannigan. I find it helps keep everything under control while doing dishes after the meal as it also serves as a pretty good drying rack.

Use of "Do It Yourself" equipment in the bush significantly deepens the experience during the trip and increases the satisfaction received from the trip. Nice, Robin. Doc.
