The little 30 count packs of 2 oz disposable shot glasses are the bomb when mixing small batches of epoxy, G/flex, G5, or paint.

But I recently learned a lesson, do not use them to hold tiny pours of acetone.

The bottom dissolved. While I was holding the cup.

Fortunately I was wearing disposable gloves. Unfortunately the gloves were Dollar Store specials from DougD, which dissolved as well.
I guess that rules out MEKP, but those little shot glasses do work undisolvedly for mineral spirits.

the best for that kind of tasks are real shot glass, you can use them over and over and over and over again....

I knew a mechanic who would tell the new guys to, "take this styrofoam cup and bring me some gas in it." Being new they always did what they were told. He'd laugh like heck as they walked back as the bottom disappeared. You ready for another batch of those gloves Mike? I owe ya one still!

I generally don’t trust Solo cups of any size. Acetone melting that Solo shot glass was my bad; those plastic shot glasses are fine with mineral spirits and paint, and I had one already out on the bench.

Oddly enough I got a call from a friend this morning, saying that he was using a (cut down) red Solo cup to mix Aquaseal and Cotol, and noticed that his mix was getting pinkish. And hot.

For mixing epoxy and custom paint colors and such I use old urine graduated urine specimen cups from my lab days (wish I had more of those left), or hard plastic Chinet Crystal.

Having a transparent pot is easier when mixing epoxy pigment or paints to a desired color.

A Canoe Tripping-esque segue; what do other folks use as their mixing pots, especially the disposable stuff?

On most trips I bring one or two small cans of tuna, mostly for the tuna but also for the can which I have used to mix epoxy in the field for repairs. At home I use an empty cat food can or lacking that make myself a tuna wrap before starting to do repairs. Not being clear it's a bit harder to measure the proper mixture but I'm a "good/close enough" type of guy..

The urine sample cups are great, I believe you can find them on line, or from a Pharmacy.
For a 9 oz Epoxy mix, I use Walmart's cheap smooth sided, 16 or 20 oz cups.

I don't advise leaving resin in these cups over night, as they will soften in time with just the Epoxy resin.

I POUR resin into several cups, and when I need a cup all I need do is PUMP hardener into the cup. In this way I prevent mixing them up ! Only the hardener has a pump.

You can see I still have a few System Three cups. I was always worried about scraping the inside of these cups, and introducing wax, into my resin mix. I never had any problems, just an unfounded fear I guess,
