One other thing. If it isn't too much of a problem, could you zoom out a little and show me your flotation setup? Also, what spacing are the lacing holes under the gunwales? I assume you're just using regular paracord for lashing?

Mark, I've gotten away from para cord for most things. I just don't like working with it most of the time, partly because of the way it flattens under tension. I used solid braid dacron for this. I followed the instructions from here......

Paracord is nylon, so will stretch when wet. Get polyester (Dacron).

Only thing I did different is that I added fastex buckle attachments to each end of the web strap, so that I can easily move the bags from boat to boat.

What you don't see is the other end of the webbing is connected to the point of the bag at the stem, and then to anotherquick cconnect buckle. Another short strap attaches the other end of the buckle to the cord looped up in the stem.
