I knew I had some Canadian currency somewhere, left over from a long ago trip....it finally showed up this weekend. But I think I heard that Canada changed its currency and that some of the old bills are no longer good??? I searched on google images and they don't look like the paper money I have. The $20 bill has a loon on the back, the $10 has an osprey, $5 has a kingfisher and the $2 has robins on it. I apologize that I know the birds better than the Canadian people on the currency. Does it sound like I have usable currency? Thanks.
Erica

I just realized my 20s have two different formats. One has a young Queen and view of some mountains. The second has a more mature Queen with a loon on the back.

Any Canadian paper currency is legal tender, doesn't matter how old it is. One & Two Dollar bills are no longer in circulation but they are still legal tender.

Only the penny is no longer in circulation (without a replacement) or generally accepted (since 2012) but they can still be exchanged for current currency at most banks (generally only when submitted in rolls of 50).

If I send you a twoonie will you send me the two dollar paper note? I misplaced my single and two dollar paper notes.
