Well it's more than just straight vs. bent. A traditional beaver tail with its longer blade of 26 to almost 30 inches will reach further under the boat and get you closer to the keel line than a typical bent shaft blade. Cliff might be wrong about this one, nobody is right about everything, even "experts".
