Ash products banned from Canadian National Parks and Provincial parks

Wow, I need to see a woodworker one day to find out what type of wood gunnels and paddles I have.
What about decades old gear?

That's closing the barn door after the horse has escaped , raw wood may harbor EABs but milled and dried lumber should not & how about products that were produced years ago prior to the infestation ?

I'm living in the middle of the battle. The fight has been going on for a few years now, clear cutting ash to attempt a buffer to prevent the spread of the disease. As such there has been a firewood movement ban here.

I see nothing about finished wood products. A phone call to the local Food Inspection Agency office would allay fears.
So long as you didn't trim your canoe with raw ash, carve your paddle with raw ash, and kept it so I doubt you have any reason to fret.
Or we can all just enjoy another April 1st, ha ha.

Yes, our Southwestern Ontario Environmental Defence committee is organizing a massive boat-burning event at noon today on the front lawn of the town hall. Pressure's on from all sides that I show a good example to the community by donating my Richardson. I should have seen this coming...

The b*st*rds just came with a flatbed truck and loaded up my Richardson. Said if I had any real sense of "team" I'd give up my Peterborough, too.

Not me 'The Lord giveth', and the sun can melt the 4". It will be in the 50s 3 out of next 4 days and the day it's not, rain.

The shovel stays in the barn.

They sent the mounties to my shop in MN and said because of NAFTA and the fact we are a bordering state they needed to burn all my gunnels and yokes!

I was running a list in my head and wasn't too worried, paddles were the biggest concern for me, until I read to YC 2nd post. With out that I might have trotted off to the barn for a look see.
