This is sort of a test. I had to come up with a new photo host after photo@ucket screwed me over. I also wanted to share this project. Hopefully, now that I did the stripping, my son will take over and restore this one. It is a 1910 Old Town Lightweight that he acquired at the WCHA Assembly Auction this year. It is a neat boat with all spruce trim (decks, thwart, rails, seats). Closed gunwales. He is running off to college soon, so progress may be painfully slow. I will keep you posted. The canoe will likely weigh less than 58 pounds when done. The biggest issue with these lightweights is the thin (1/8th inch) planking usually takes a beating and this one is no exception! I couldn't get much of the green paint off of the trim. There is a special place in hell for people that paint interiors.
