August of 76’ was the year I did my first trip. Are you in the bow or stern? And what kind of boat are you in?
Odd names for fish you are about to eat...NW Ontario with Memaquay and Odessey, good times.
Washington state produces some very fine wines, both red and white. If I'd just bought a piece of land around Walla Walla back in 1980...tketcham,
Forty Five years ago I did a soil survey of BLM lands in eastern Washington including areas along the Columbia. I remember sitting at one of the first wineries in the State at Patterson overlooking the river, and having a discussion with my associate about the future of growing wine grapes in the region. We concluded that it was the perfect place to expand wine grapes and we were right.
I have never paddled the Columbia but I have taken the sternwheeler from Portland out to Astoria and up to Clarkston, WA on the Snake. I can recommend the trip.
I keep thinking of doing a trip on Roosevelt Lake behind Grand Coulee Dam. It is 120 miles long.
