Tarp type and set-up style, and let's see some pix

@clemency I realize that’s a big tarp, and it’s unnecessarily big. It was the $130 price that intrigued me and the fact it’s a reputable company. Comparing the size down with CCS, its comparable in price and weight, but the MSR comes with poles. Which has pros and cons to it. I’ll probably stick with the 10’x12’ - 12’x12’ CCS, which will be better than my long time 10’6”x6’6” tarp I’ve been using for a decade.
Eureka sells collapsible poles. Currently on sale for $30 each and they raise up to 9 ft. They're nice to have.

I’ll take a look around for the Eureka poles, they ceased operation a little while ago but I’m sure I can find some at cabelas or online. I know that Paria sells a pair for a little more and adjust up to 8’, and a few other companies as well.

Thanks for the recommendation

I have owned and used flat tarps, tarp canopies, tarp tents and box screen tarps.

@ErktheRed I am in the market for such a beast and would be very interested in where this deal can be found, should you decide not to take it.

I guess I lucked out, I was looking at the Hilleburg site and noticed they had a special offers page that offers their products with slight blemishes or outdated colors. Low and behold they had a 10 X 10 ultralight tarp at a substantial savings, with a blemish on the stuff sack. Nice tarp.

I found the deal and bought one. It looks huge, but we will see how the asymmetric cut impacts usable space. The listed weight includes two 7' 6" poles and MSR Cyclone stakes, so really not bad. I will start a thread when it arrives and I can set it up.
