What a beautiful canoe!

Yesterday, with my grandfather's help (and tools), I made myself a set of long (72") crossbars so that I can carry two canoes on my car. Thanks again @Tsuga8, @Alan Gage, and @Alien Legs for your advice on DIY-ing these! I ended up using 2×4s, and I attached them to my Outback’s roof rails with U-bolts very much like @Tsuga8 does. Here’s a photo from my first road trip with the new two-canoe rig yesterday evening:

The Kevlar canoe behind my Indy is a Wenonah Odyssey that I bought from @yellowcanoe when I visited a friend in Maine this spring—my first tandem canoe of my own! Here’s a photo of it on my car from the day I brought it home:

The 76" Yakima bars will easily handle side by side Prospector hulls.

As shown in my OP of this thread, I've used a full size van conversion as my canoe vehicle since the mid-1980s. In my second one, my 1997 Dodge Ram Van, I removed the two center seats, sleep on the back fold-down couch, and have a lot of room behind the front seats to cook and camp in. No need to set up tents in the rain or get exposed to bugs.

Is that the same canvas canoe you've used in a lot of your videos? I love the truck also.

Yes, it is. I used to use a 15’ green Chestnut Chum, great little canoe, but I found the 16’ Cruiser to be more of an all round canoe for my needs. It handles the canvas tent outfit well and I have a nice 14’ Chestnut Fox replica for lighter outfits.
